I loved Helfi from the moment I Walked in. Real People, Real Goals, Realistic Fitness Program
Helfi isn't just a gym where you improve the outside, is a place that provides you with a holistic support network to improve your lifestyle.
I used to eat colourless carb loaded meals, my afternoons were about sitting on the couch with a beer catching up on TV whinging about how much a hated my life and my weekend plans always involved food and alcohol and at least 1 day hungover and eating takeaway.
Now I go to the gym after work at least 4 days a week, my meals are full of fresh food with lots of different colours, I sleep the whole night through and my weekends are about getting out and doing things - shopping at markets, gardening, bushwalking, bowling and my Sunday arvo run along the beach.
I was a member of Fitness First for over 6 years, I hated it and never went. It was so impersonal and people made you feel bad about being there. I did a bit of research and found 3 gyms I thought were interesting, it was a Friday afternoon and I sent them all an email expecting a reply the following week. Joe rang me the next morning and invited me in on the Monday. I loved it from the moment I walked in. They were real people, with real goals and a realistic fitness model.
Depending on my work week I usually get in 4 sessions a week and have a session with Joe once a fortnight but what I love the most is that I can still exercise when I am away because Josie and Chris teach me how to do all the exercises correctly so I can do things on my own.
It would be quicker to explain what I don't like - NOTHING, haha. Honestly, all the trainers are friendly, supportive and helpful, the other members are friendly and its great to go in the afternoon and challenge yourself with something different everyday and not have to put any thought into it.
If you are looking for a fun, safe, friendly environment to spend 30 minutes a day on you without having to prepare a program and work every part of your body, then Helfi is the place to go.
