But, first I would like to share some REAL dreadful statistics with you – yes, you know I also do my research..
Did you know that the average Brisbane Person only takes 5000ish steps per day?!
Here’s some more shocking news to highlight this statistic – According to a study in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise…
“The countries that reported high average daily steps also have lower obesity rates, ranging from 3% to 16 %.”
You know that also affects people with dogs, right?
To encourage you to get your steps up each day to a healthy minimum of 10,000 steps a day, I’ve designed I new physical challenge for you.”
When Was The Last Time You Checked How Many Steps You Average Per Day? Chances are you’ll be SHOCKED to see how a small number of steps you take per day, especially if you work at a desk most of the time.

For as long as I can remember, being young (ie from childhood to late teenager) weight was never really an issue for me, probably because I did soo much sport, and burned off more than the average teenager. AND I WALKED EVERYWHERE. You see, I was an elite junior sports athlete and exercise and fitness was in my blood. I trained like an Olympian and didn’t really think twice about walking or running to places. So I took not being overweight for granted, even after I slowed down my physical activity.
Once I became an adult, I slowed down my physical activity and practically eliminated all walking from my routine. And guess what? My belly started growing in girth.
After all this, I still was never able to achieve the long-lasting weight loss I was seeking after. Sure, I dropped a little weight at times. In fact, I even got partly lean and was confident enough to wear a singlet again, during the summer. But, in the end, the
weight always came back, and it got harder and harder to lose each time.. Until now...

Now, being a parent myself, I hear a lot of parents tell me how busy they are “running around taking kids here and there all day,” but remember, most of that running around is done driving while sitting behind the wheel of your car!
So, how why am I sharing all this with you, and what’s got me so excited?
Based on the amazing encouragement, support and new friendships built with our last 21 Days Detox Challenge, having a goal, structure and the power of like minded motivated numbers does wonders for Achievement. I keep getting asked the question:
“What’s our next Challenge, and Can we Make It a Physical One”
And, after having my arm twisted many time, I thought this would be a great one!!
So, how why am I sharing all this with you, and what’s got me so excited?
