For as long as I can remember, eating an overload of any forms of carbs was part of my normal eating regime. When I was young (ie from child to late teenager) weight was never really an issue for me, probably because I did 'soo' much sport, and burned off more than the average teenager. You see, I was an elite junior sports athlete and exercise and fitness was in my blood. I trained like an
Olympian and didn’t really focus on diet and nutrition. So I took not being overweight for granted, even after I slowed down my physical activity. Once I became an adult, I slowed down my physical activity and practically eliminated all fat from my diet. And guess what? My belly started growing in girth. To cut ‘my gut’ down, I started living on egg whites & oatmeal for breakfast, tuna & rice for lunch, and chicken& broccoli for dinner. When that didn’t work, I even got that ‘desperate’ that I introduced myself to dodgy
shakes, weight loss supplements and every ‘starvation diet’ you can imagine...
After all this, I still was never able to achieve the long-lasting weight loss I was seeking. Sure, I dropped a little weight at times. In fact, I even got relatively lean and was confident enough to wear a singlet again, during the summer. But, in the end, the
weight always came back, and it got harder and harder to lose each time.. Until now...
